The Surface Treatment Area has the technologies and the technicians to do surface preparation and protection, by removing all oxides and contamination and apply a wide range of anti-corrosive and decorative schemes (paint or electrolytic metallic films), on several kinds of substrates such as wood, aluminium, fibber reinforced plastic, steel, stainless steel, brass.

Service Capacity

• Apply epoxy, alkyd, acrylic or PU paint coatings by airless or conventional spray gun
• Blast room with 20m x 5m x 5m for steel grit blasting, with a production of 320 m2 per day. The blast room has a flexible structure that enables to operate on a single room or four smaller rooms of 5m x 5m, which permits to adapt production to a variety of piece types, dimensions and configurations, for example line shafts, pipes, valves, compressed air breathing bottles, compressed air tanks and hydrophores (from 60 to 2000 litters), etc.
• Electroplating shop equipped with technology for:
• surface pre-treatment by chemical and/or mechanical means (degreasing and chemical stripper tanks, two blast cabinets operating with spherical or glass grit);
• corrosion protection and decorative finish by copper, nickel, zinc, chromium plating baths

The Surface Treatment Area is also able to restore the aesthetic and decorative aspects of decorative or historical and cultural heritage, by applying single or combined techniques of surface polishing, varnishing and oxidation. This represents a high value work and is very admired and ordered by entities responsible for management and conservation of historical and cultural heritage.
